Foundation for A Successful Home

Foundation in building construction is important because it determines the size, height and strength of a building. If these components are not properly appropriated with the foundation, the building will collapse. Ps.11:3.

Marriage can be likened to a building or a house; built on a proper foundation required to sustain the structure. A home can be compared to a building.

What is this foundation? (Basic Understanding of Marriage)

1.Marriage is God’s establishment: God saw the need for marriage in a man’s life and created it, not on man’s request. Gen. 2:18-23. James 1:17, Ps.85:12, Prov. 18:22.

2.Marriage is good and perfect: God established marriage for the good of man. Marriage is not a necessary evil, it makes life better. Eccl. 4:9, Deut. 32:30.

Why God established Marriage

Marriage is established for the following reasons:

1.For Companionship: Gen. 2:18. God’s primary reason is for companionship. Mal. 2:14. Marriage is God’s intention to eradicate loneliness. Your spouse ought to be your best friend.

2.To provide help: Your wife is ordained as your help or helper. Gen. 2:18-20. Marriage is supposed to help you spiritually, mentally and emotionally.

3.To deliver from immorality: Marriage is designed to satisfy your needs emotionally. 1 Cor.17:1-4, Prov. 5:15

4.To raise Godly children(Procreation): Gen. 1:27-28, Mal. 2:15

Danger of Marital crisis

1.It hinders God`s presence in your life. Ps. 133:1

2.Prayer is hindered I Pet.3:7

3.The door is open to the enemy. James 3:16

4.You impact negatively on your world. 2 Cor. 3:2, I Tim. 4:12

5.It hinders fulfillment and God`s blessings. When you are not fulfilled in your marriage, it affects other areas of your life.

When there’s misunderstanding between husband and wife, then the devil is being given room. If the couple is not smart enough to kick him out, he will steal from them. In order to avoid marital crisis, proper foundation has to be in place. So, what is this foundation? Col 3:18, 19. Eph 5:22-33

1.                SUBMISSION.

What is submission? It is to yield to the power or authority of another.

How to submit

a)                The wife should submit to her own husband. Eph 5:22.

b)                Wives should submit to their husbands as unto the Lord.

c)Wives should submit in everything. Eph 5:24.

d)                Her submission must be from her heart. Isa 1:19, Col 3:23

Submission doesn’t have to be difficult. It is easy when you;

·       Understand who you are and your purpose as a woman.

·       See it as a commandment from God.

·       Be broken spiritually: Allow the word of God to be the dictator for your life.

·       Ask God for grace. 2 Cor. 12:9, Phil 4:13.

2.                LOVE.

Love is difficult to define. Love is VALUE. It is the worth you place on someone that determines how you treat them. Col 3:19. Eph 5:25.

How to love your wife

1)                Love her emotionally: Be emotionally attached to her. Care for her. John 11:35, 36.

2)                Love her sacrificially: Pay any price to prove your love for her. John 3:16, SOS 8:6-7, 1 Cor 13:4-13.

3)                Love her unconditionally. Rom 5:8.

A successful marriage is not a gift, it is a choice.

COVETING SPIRITUAL GIFTS FOR SUPERNATURAL TURNAROUND: PART 2

 The best gift a man can receive is the gift of the Holy Ghost.  This gift is also known as spiritual gift.  Spiritual gifts make other physical (material) gifts to find expression in your life.  When this gift is at work in a man's life,  it makes room for him;  opens doors for him & brings him before great men. Proverbs 18: 16. What you need first is this spiritual gift and the moment it is at work in your life,

 every other gift answers to you.  The gift of the spirit are primarily for our profiting.  1 Corinthians 12: 7.

WHAT ARE THESE GIFTS?
1. The nine gifts of the Holy Spirit.  1 Corinthians 12 : 7-10. Any of these gifts is enough to announce you to your world and bring you before great men.
2. The seven spirits of God.  Isaiah 11: 1-2. These are the spirits that were upon Christ. The exploits in the life of Christ were as a result of these gifts that were present in his life.
3. Other tangible spiritual gifts such as:
    a. the spirit of faith: 2 Corinthians 4: 13
    b. the spirit of love: 2 Timothy 1: 6-7
    c. the spirit of vision and guidance: Joel 2: 28

You do not need all these gifts to be announced to your world as one is just enough.  This is why you have to covet the best one for you to fulfil destiny.  Samson had one of the gifts of the spirit at work in him and this was the gift of might.  This connotes physical strength or physical health.  When this gift is at work in a man's life, sickness or disease cannot have dominion over him.  Every exploit of Samson is as a result of the spirit of might inside of him.  Judges 13: 25; 14: 5-6 & 19; 16: 20 & 25-30.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT SPIRITUAL GIFTS

1. Spiritual gifts are for believers.  If you are not born again,  then you are not qualified for it.  Romans 1: 11.
2. Spiritual gifts are transferable from an anointed vessel.  They can be imparted and to impart means to pass on or to give.
3. They are treasures embedded in the Holy Ghost for our profiting.
4. They guarantee the establishment of God's purpose for our lives.

HOW TO ACCESS THESE GIFTS
Spiritual gifts are accessed through love.  Follow after love so that you can access these gifts. 1 Corinthians 12 : 31; 13: 1; 14: 1. One of the ways to prove our love for God is through soul winning as God is a lover of souls.  John 3: 16. Loving what God loves is one of the ways to prove our love for God and soul winning is a proof of our love for God.

WHY PEOPLE FAIL TO WIN SOULS
1 Satan: Satan does not want anyone saved as he knows that the moment people are saved,  they leave his control and Kingdom for God's so he does everything possible to discourage us from reaching out to lost souls.
2. Ignorance: This is the absence of knowledge or inadequate knowledge of the implications or benefits of soul winning.  The blood of sinners will be required from us if we fail to win them before they die.  Ezekiel 3: 18; while there is a reward for soul winning. John 4: 36.
3. Excuses: People give various excuses like: I am shy; I can't talk;  I don't know the Scripture;  I am busy;  my job will not permit me etc.
4. Wilful disobedience: Knowing what to do and failing to do it.

"Soul winning is an assignment we must not fail to do" Mark 16: 15.

COVETING SPIRITUAL GIFTS FOR SUPERNATURAL TURNAROUND

 Announcement of the Week
One of the ways to experience exceeding grace is through His unspeakable gift 2Corinthians 9 vs. 14-15.  The gifts here are Spiritual gifts are ordained by God to make room for us and bring us before great men. Prov. 18:16. We need these gifts for the fulfillment of the exceeding grace prophecies. The moment these gifts find expression in your life, then the realities of these prophecies is imminent. There is room for you on earth and there are great men for you to meet. When these gifts operate in your life, then great men will want to identify with you and send for you. Solomon asked God for wisdom and God gave to him in great dimension. 1Kings 3:12, 4:29-30. These gifts are not what we struggle for but God gives liberally. When the gift is at work, it announces the man. Daniel was endowed with the gift of understanding. Daniel 1:17, 5:10-12, 6:1-3.

WHAT ARE SPIRITUAL GIFTS?

Spiritual gifts are treasures embedded in the Holy Ghost for our profiting.

1.   The nine gifts of the Holy Ghost 1Corinthians 12:7-11

3.   Other tangible spiritual gifts such as;

Most of these gifts are transferable from Anointed vessels. Romans 1:11, 1Timothy4:14, Deuteronomy 34:9. Spiritual gifts can be impacted. Even one of these gifts is enough to make the difference.

WHY DO WE NEED SPIRITUAL GIFTS?

We need spiritual gifts for profitable living and the fulfillment of destiny. Matthew 1:21, Luke 4: 11-14, 1Corinthians 12:7.

HOW DO WE ACCESS THE SPIRITUAL GIFTS?

      Understand that the gifts are accessible. This can be accessed through the love of God. Until God sees your love for Him, He is less committed to giving you these gifts. 1Corinthians12:31, 13:1-13, 14:1.

One of the ways we prove our love for God is through soul winning. God loves souls and you must be committed to winning them through preaching. So, prove your love for Him not only in words but also in deeds.

WHY SOUL WINNING?

1.   It is God commandment to all believers. Mark 16:15-16

2.   It is our ministry. 2Corinthians 5:17-19

3.   Someone must preach to them. Romans 10:13-15

4.   To be free from the blood of all men. Ezekiel 3:18-19

5.   To receive the blessing.

THE BLESSINGS OF SOUL WINNING

1.   Divine wisdom. Proverbs 4:7, 11:30, Daniel 12:3

2.   Answers to prayers. John 15:16

3.   God ensures you don’t lack anything. Luke 22:35

4.   Divine Health. Proverbs 13:17, 2Corinthians 5:20

5.   Divine Protection. John 15:2

ENCOUNTER WITH TURNAROUND FAVOUR

Favour means divine partiality; preferential treatment or a kind act. Turnaround favour on the other hand is favour that turns a man's life around. You do not need too many as one or two is enough to bring a definite turnaround. This was the kind of favour Joseph enjoyed from his father even though he was not the first. It was the favour that made Joseph heir in Potipher's house where he was meant to be a slave. Genesis 39 : 5. It made Joseph an official in prison where he was an inmate and it took him from prison and made him the prime minister in Egypt. Genesis 41 : 1 - 16, 38 - 44. There was a sudden turnaround in the life of Joseph because of turnaround favour. 

It was this kind of favour that Esther (an ordinary girl) enjoyed that made her ascend the throne. Esther 2. There is a dramatic turnaround when this favour comes as it is not about your capabilities but about what God is doing.

WHAT FAVOUR DOES
1.  Favour singles you out of the crowd the number involved not withstanding. Luke 1 : 28.
2. Favour causes men to prefer you and yours I.e. preferential treatment. Genesis 29 : 17.
3. It makes people to love you which is why love is a function of favour. Favour is borne out of love. Esther 2 : 8 - 17.
4. It stirs men up to give to you. Exodus 3 : 21; Exodus 12 : 35 - 36.
5. It opens closed doors irrespective of who closed it and what it was closed with.
6. It terminates labour. Not all winners sweat to win as favour brings an end to struggle. Psalms 44 : 3.

HOW TO ENCOUNTER TURNAROUND FAVOUR

1. Acknowledge God as the giver of favour. Exodus 12 : 35 - 36. Look up to God and not men to favour you. If God does not favour you, you cannot be favoured by anyone as it is God that connects you to favour ( even people that will favour you ). Daniel 1 : 9.
2. Give your life to Jesus. The favour of God is only for the righteous as they are the ones qualified for favour. Psalms 5 : 12.
3. Possess a good character. 1Samuel 18 : 5, 14 - 15 & 30. Your character can either bring you favour or drive favour away from you. Genesis 39 : 2 - 3 & 5.
4. Sow seed of favour so that you can receive favour in return. Galatians 6 : 7; Proverbs 11 : 27.
5. Advance or promote the Kingdom as God promotes you when you advance His cause. Psalms 102: 13-14.
6. Through the anointing. 1Samuel 10 : 3 - 4.
